I agree with you. I had taken in my 2K Dak 4.7 last Friday with two
problems (my fault) and they corrected that and even corrected the rough
idle, which I didn't asked them to do. That is what I call a good five star
dealership. I running now around 700RPM versus 550 for idle.

Subject: DML: Rough Idle 4.7 (UPDATE)
Ok Guy & Gals,
Sorry I didn't post this upgrade sooner, because I know there's some
Dakota's experiencing this 4.7 ROUGH IDLE problem, But web-tv gave me
this so called upgrade, and the DML list was all messed up, and I
couldn't post and read all the posts on the list and I don't think I can
even now, read that is, so if anybody wants to e-mail me go right a
head,
your welcome too.
Well get back to my 4.7 rough idle problem, well I took the Dak up to
the dealer this past tuesday and the mech put the new MAP sensor on.
He told me there was oil inside the MAP sensor, "Go Figure"
How does oil get in the sensor?
I have no idea.
Well he pulled the Dakota out of the garage, Then he said jump in, so I
jump in on the passenger side and the Mech took me for a ride, and I
mean a RIDE,
hehe
He got down on the pedal pretty good, hehe.....
I guess he wanted to test the throttle response, ect, etc.....
Well all I want to say now, is that the 4.7 is running GREAT, purrs like
kitten,
nice and smooth.
Oh yea get this, the Gas mileage went up
significantly, from
11.5 to a WHOPPING 14.5 MPG,
City Drivini' that is Too.
Wu-hooooooooo....!!!!
So if anybody that is incountering bad Gas milage, and or Rough idle,
get that
DAM MAP sensor changed....
Shit its easy to put on.
There ya go folks.
