Thanks. I bought the black ones so the DC dealer wouldn't noticed the
difference.

Hi Steven,
Your engine is a little different. Removal requires the same tools but
installation is quite different. Installation requires special tool 8512
(Crankshaft Damper Installer). This tool must be assembled in specific
sequence. Failure to do so can result in tool failure and/or severe damage
to the crankshaft. Torque for the damper bolt s/b 130 ft lbs.

Crap! I bought those pulleys (Jet version) for the 4.7 also. Is there a
special tool at the local Pepboys or AutoZone?

Thanks for the help Ron. What manual did you get this info out of? I'd
like to be able to tell the people at truckperformance.com when I call to
exchange my pulleys. I probably wouldn't of bought them if I knew it
required special tools to remove it.

>From what I can tell in the manual, it is a one-piece pulley-dampener.
Special tools you need to remove. Puller 1026 and crankshaft damper removal
insert 8513. Special tools you need to install. Puller C-3688. Looks
pretty straight forward. Crankshaft bolt and washer should be torqued to
180 ft lbs. Good luck.

I went to install my ASP 2 pulley set Saturday on my '00 Durango and after I
got the upper fan shroud removed I was getting ready to take the fan off and
I didn't notice the 6 bolt pattern on my stock pulley. I really couldn't
see in there that great but it looked like the crank pulley and the dampener
pulley were a one piece assembly that was bolted directly to the crank by
one bolt. The stock pulley had "spider" like legs than attached to the
dampener. Can anyone with a '00 5.9L verify this or does anyone know where
I can get a service manual other than the dealer for it? $90 for a service
manual seems like a lot!
