I've got a new kenwood head unit (not excelon) and it plays cdr's just
as good as any commercially pressed CD. My 5 year old kenwood changer
behind the seat plays them just as well, even on really rough
roads. Never had a cdr they wouldn't play. Doesn't play cdrw's but
then again I don't think hardly any audio players will do those. ....Never
owned an Alpine, so can't speak for them.
