After installing the new Air Raid intake, I noticed that there was an
increase of RPM, bottom end HP with more noise than ever from the engine
bay. Sounded like a full blown HEMI 426. But it was more mild from 4500 to
5700 range. Last night I reset the computer on the truck and found that it
adjusted everything from bottom to top end RPM range. More of a balance
throughout the RPM range of the engine. Hmm! Maybe this was not a good to
reset the computer and went for the lower range boost. Tonight I will reset
the old air intake and again balance the engine computer to read the normal
parameters. Wait one day and put on the Air Raid again. I figure I need
the bottom end boost versus the top end. The Super Charger will take care
of the top boost anyway.
I will be ordering a 3" ceramic coated tube for the cold air induction to
the front and a smooth 90 degree ceramic tube running into the throttle
body.
The moral of this story, if you what a low end boost after installing a
aftermarket product don't adjust your engine computer.
Chris & Matt, I look at the air hat and I believe you are right, just
remove it and go for the S tube version straight to the throttle body.
