I have a '99 with a 5-speed. When it was new I had the same problem. When
I would come to a complete stop and put it in 1st the thing would jump out
when I let the clutch out. I let this go as a freak kind of thing until
about 7,000 miles. At that point it was happening enough that I was sure
the dealer could diagnose it. Ended up being a rebuild of nearly half the
transmission. I realize mine is not the new 4.7 and all, but it seems
you're having the same problem. I'm not sure if mine started as d-tents
being missaligned or the 1st and 2nd gear forks being bent since by 7,000
miles one would have caused the other no matter where it started. The
earlier you can get it in the better because it took forever to get the
replacement 1st gear from Chrysler. As far as what to tell them, I'd say
tell 'em it jumps out of first at times, and it feels like the d-tents
aren't engaging correctly. Good Luck.
