THis is right off that web site that was posted in the past day or so...

<<<Fram Double Guard

Another bad filter idea brought to you by your friends at Fram. The filter
itself is a slightly improved design over
the Fram Extra Guard, but still uses the same filter element. It has a
silicone anti-drainback valve, a quality
pressure releif valve, and enough inlet holes for good flow. The big
problem is that they are trying to cash in on
the Slick 50 craze. They impregnate the filter element with bits of Teflon
like that found in Slick 50. As with Slick
50, Teflon is a solid and does not belong in an engine. It cannot get into
the parts of the engine that oil can and
therefore does nothing. Also, as the filter gets dirty, it ends up
filtering the Teflon right out. Dupont (the
manufacturer of Teflon) does not recommend Teflon for use in internal
combustion engines. Please do not waste
your money on this filter. >>>

I do not agree with the assessment of the whole slick 50 idea. One of my
fathers friends was driving his motorhome out in Arizona when a rock
punctured a hole in his oil pan. He heard the engine get loud and realized
he had lost pressure, not wanting to leave his family in the desert alone
he kept driving figuring worst comes to worst he blows an engine with 125k
on it, no big deal right? He drove like 30 miles to a service station. He
had a cab take him and his family into town so the engine could be
repaired. Surprisingly the mechanic on duty said that as far as he could
tell the engine was fine, compresion was fine, he pulled the valve covers
and they were fine also, so all that was done was a new oil pump and pan
were put on. Slick 50 saved this guys engine. He had the engine torn down
upon returning to RI and everything checked out fine, bearings and all. No
sign of damage. This is one miracle product I believe in.
