I think on the newer Daks (98-99 onward) you have to take it to the dealer
and they flash the computer with the new specs (tire/wheel diameter, gear
ratio, etc.)

On the 5-Speeds...probably yes. I had to change it out on mine. I don't

If I want to dramatically change my tire diameter in a 2000 V8 Automatic,
can I purchase a speedometer pinion gear like I did on all the old cars????
I'd like to run a shorter tire but I don't want to rack up 10% greater
mileage on the odometer!!!
If you can do this still, what is to stop people from doing it to cheap
leases???
