My brother has a '99 Ram, he put larger tires on his truck and went back to
the dealer to have the PCM reprogrammed to calibrate. The dealer could only
set the PCM for factory size tires, So he could only get it close but not
perfect. That sucks, they should be able to reprogram for any size!!

I think on the newer Daks (98-99 onward) you have to take it to the dealer
and they flash the computer with the new specs (tire/wheel diameter, gear
ratio, etc.)

On the 5-Speeds...probably yes. I had to change it out on mine. I don't
think the 2000's have a Speedo-Gear anymore.

If I want to dramatically change my tire diameter in a 2000 V8 Automatic,
can I purchase a speedometer pinion gear like I did on all the old cars????
I'd like to run a shorter tire but I don't want to rack up 10% greater
mileage on the odometer!!!
