Hi,

On a 99 5.2L the clutch assembly is attached to the water pump with a
single bolt, and the water pump pulley is not removable. To remove the fan
*AND* radiator shroud as a single unit [ recommended by the FSM ] remove
the belt, then use a chain wrench [or equivalent band type ] and retain the
water pump pulley. Take a large wrench and loosen the clutch bolt .. That's
that big 1.25" one right in the middle of the pulley. After you get it
loose, you can remove it with your fingers, it is right hand threaded. Then
remove the 4 fan shroud nuts and lift the entire thing out as an assembly
... VERY EASY ... and now you have enough room to practically sit in there,
and you don't have to remove the plastic splash cover on the 2WD models. ...

Using an air ratchet this is about a 10 minute job including the bottom
pulley..

NOTE however do *NOT* lay the fan down, keep it standing
up .. Laying it down may cause the fluid to leak out or in some other way
get where it's not supposed to be ... And those clutches ain't cheap ...
