The truck turns over now. The technician I have working on it claims it is
a wiring short and says he has the dash off and is searching for the actual
shorted part of the harness...
Will an 89 dak start and run with only a battery and no alternator? I know
older carburated vehicles will.

All I want to do is get it running and trade the old thing off. It was a
great truck and it will be a sad day when I get rid of it, but all good
things come to an end I guess.
