The reason they put the filter in the pump (as I
understand it) is so they don't need return lines
forover pumped fuel. The fuel just drops back in the
tank. That is what I have heard. It makes the system
more efficient, but a pain in the ass to change the
filter. You have to drop the tank. -Seth
