I have not seen great mileage out of most 4X4s. We have a S10 Blazer 4X4 4.3 V6
that cant top 14 mpg and a 2000 Tahoe 2wd 327 V8 (what ever that is) and it only
gets around 12 mpg on highway (driven about 80 mph though) My 99 R/T gets 17
mpg driven at 75-80 and 19 mpg driven 55. However the magnum engines require at
least 5k miles to fully break in and deliver best mileage.

I seriously doubt that mileage can be proven. The fullsize Chev can't do that
good with a V6!
