OK Guys,
You've got my interest. I'm not familiar with lifting a vehicle, but what
are the major concerns in doing this? Like brake lines, fuel lines, wiring,
etc.? How many ugh-oh's will you run into doing a 2" lift? Thanks for any
fore knowledge.

Here's some info from a previous post:

 Hope that helps...

I have been talking to California Super Trucks and receieved an e-mail back
from them about lift kits for 2WD 96 and earler Dakotas. Heres what I got
back:

E-mail number 1

Brad-

CST does not currently offer any 2wd lifts for the pre 1997 Dakotas. We have
a kit in the works, but is not and probably will not be available for
another few months.

Unfortunately you know all too well that there is a total lack of 2wd lifts
for the older Dakotas. To the best of my knowledge... there are no available
lifts at this time.

Thanks for writing in.

E-mail number 2

You'd be surprised at the number of offers just like yours that we get every
week. For some reason the older Dakotas are just now getting really popular
in the off-road scene. Back when they were considered the new Dakotas very
few people wanted to lift them... it's taken the requests by people like
yourself to get aftermarket companies like us on the right track toward
offering what people want. I'll let you know when we get closer to delivery
of the "new" old Dakota lifts.

You guys can check out their website in the meantime and I will post when I
get further info. Also, dont forget to check out my truck, with the new
352HP Kammer & Kammer motor!
