Decent weather conditions on Saturday for drag racing, sunny, 78 degrees,
humidity high at 80% (not so good). First run I went 14.596 @ 92.40, second
run was 14.573 @ 91.64, third run spun a little off the line and ran 14.675
@ 90.90. my last run wasn't until 9:30 pm, first round elimination's, by
then it was 65, and humidity was even higher, I lined up against '99 S-10
RC, slammed to the ground 4cyl. He dialed in at 18.80, and I had a 14.55 on
the window :), He takes off and I wait over 4 seconds before I get a
green,by then he's way the hell down there! well I left at .490 RED !!! But
I caught and passed his ass at the line. hee heeeee!!! I ran 14.696 @
90.54. Short times for the day were, 1.962, 1.962, 1.984, and 1.926. I'm
up to 74 passes down the 1/4 mile since last October, the average of the top
20 ET's is now 14.65 .
Also, after Steven recommended I shim my traction bars to get them closer to
the spring, I did before I went to the track. The snubber is now about 1/2"
from touching. I could feel the difference on the street after doing this,
you can feel the front of the truck lift under hard shifts, more so than
before!
