Derek, you have choice, "Performance or non-performance". Yes! I can agree
the 4.7 can be hungry for gas when the pedal is to the metal.

Chevy 5.x or the 6.x is the better value vehicle with the Chevy. My friend,
who is across the hall has two of them (2000 models). One with the 6 and
the other a 8. He regrets in buying the 6 and wish for another 8.

I can't blame you Derek, since I own a Bowtie with poor quality but gets
great gas mileage. It makes damn mad when you expect the vehicle to perform
and not break down. But then I get poor gas mileage Dakota but great
performance and no problems with the truck.

If you planned to purchase a Chevy, wait for the 2001, which will increase
the HP by another 25HP in there 5.X and 6.X motors but don't opt for the
4.x. GMC is revising there face on there truck line versus Chevy.

I hope so 14mpg out of a v6 4x4 is pathetic the dealer is trying to get me
into the same truck as mine but with a 4.7 but from the look of things on
the dml they arent that great either. So ive been looking at full size
chevs, i know that is a bad word around here but i have 3 friends that have
them and their 4.8 with 270 hp extended cab 4x4s are getting 24-27 mpg on
the highway and they say the rest of the truck is pretty darn good. But well
see.
