Steven,

I have an aftermarket power sunroof in my '98. It's made by American
Sunroof Company(ASC), which is probably the largest and best known
manufacturer. I believe they do many of the "factory" sunroofs for
various brands. It was a pre-delivery install and added $1300 to the
price. That's about the same as what it would cost if you simply drove
into an ASC dealer shop. My business partner also has one in his Chevy
Tahoe. His was done after delivery. Ran about the same price. His Tahoe
had the overhead console and what they do is shorten it. You lose some
of the storage compartments, but retain the map lights and computer if
you have that option. I've gone the backwards route and bought the
console parts recently, intending to shorten and install it so that I
can gain the map light feature. I think there was an article in one of
the recent rags which showed a sunroof install where they shortened the
console.

Hey, what's the scoop on that wrecked truck in Sacramento? Leather
seats? What color?

TIA,

Bob
