So far the pinging is gone on the high end (driving) but now the engine is
making a funny noise when it's sitting in park and AC is off. It's almost
like it is not idling at a high enough RPM or that the belt is slipping.
If AC is on, almost goes away. Either was I have to take it back in for
them to check but it will have to wait until I get back from my Honeymoon at
the end of the month. Only 3 more days after today until the big day, I
just wish it would be over with, too much hype.

'99 Dak pinging problem
Will find out today, took mine back in last Wednesday to get it done and see
why in one month since they had last worked on it had lost 4 quarts of oil.
They say the oil issue was a warped "intake pan", allowing oil in the TB and
supposedly while they were replacing it they noticed a place warped on the
manifold itself. They are telling me now that the manifold being warped was
the whole ping issue to begin with. All I have to say is "I will believe
it when I can not hear it".
Will pick up tonight and try and notify all of results tomorrow.

Subject: DML: '99 Dak pinging problem fix?
Question: Has anyone had their '99 Dak in for the "pinging problem" PCM
reflash? If so, did it fix the problem? Are there any undesireable side
effects (MPG/acceleration/power/etc.)?
Thanks,
- -Mitch
