On the V6, stick with the Flowmaster. The choice on the cat-back pipe
configuration is up to you. If you want to make it as inexpensive as
possible, grab a 40-series Flowmaster 2.25" IN/OUT and it will fit in the
stock muffler location. The other option is a single 2.25" dual 2" out
configuration. This will cost about $300 but includes custom bent pipes
from the muffler all the way out the back with Megs tips. (The sound is
incredible and the performance on the higher end is also just as good.)

Hey Looper,
I don't know where you're located nor about a V6, that's Bernd's territory
but I do know that welding is better than the brackets. If you're down here
in SoCal there's a place I went to in Cerritos called Kenny's Muffler. They
did an excellent job on mine for $60. Mine's a 5.9. I bought a Borla
Catback system. Sounds great! Kenny's welded all the way through from the
cat to the tip.

OK this maybe a Dumb one but here it goes:
How hard is it to replace your stock muffler with
an after market one? Special tools? welders?
And if you happen to know the correct inlet/outlet
size?
This are the three I'm looking at:
Flowmaster 40 series $70
Flowmaster DELTA FLOW MUFFLERS $80
FlowTECH TERMINATOR "BAD BOY" $55
=====
Flame Red 2000 QC SLT V6 Manual
Right now I'm OEM boy.
Soon to be Aftermarket boy...
