It's not unheard of for a young kid to buy such a high-performance,
high-operating cost vehicle. To back up your story of the kid with the
Saleen Mustang, i have two instances of similar things happening. I know a
kid that is 19 that nearly bought and fully paid for with his own money a
1999 Corvette when it was brand new... the only reason he didn't is because
he decided that he couldn't bring himself to make it a daily driver, he'd
never want to leave it's side (or seat) and he claimed he'd probably just
end up sitting in his garage waxing it and rubbing it with a diaper most of
the time. Another fella i don't know personally works as a gas station clerk
and has a 2000 yellow vette with several modifications include clear tail
lights (which just look awesome). He's in his twenties and his rich daddy
probably still pays the insurance (which is half the cost), but the same
idea. Actually this has nothing to do with anything i'm just jealous of that
guy at the gas station because his car matches mine (yellow), but is much
better and i know he makes less than me. And the jerk HAS to just park it
out by the street when he's working every day and i always see it. hhehe...
Maybe we can run together when i get my supercharger. Then i'll go ask him
to race. grrr... stupid rich kids. (no offense to rich kids on the list)

Really though, good post Steven.

Sean
