assuming you are wanting to do this yourself, here are the obstacles: In
96 they went to an OBDII computer, which means there are more sensors and
more stuff to trigger a Check Engine light. As far as I know, the wiring
harnesses are slightly different. Other differences include the intake
manifold (absence of EGR) and an electronically controlled transmission
that appeared also. I recommend goin' with a 95 motor and tranny, that
way you'll avoid any computer hassles....
and since they changed body-styles in 97, you may come across some
hurdles with aftermarket products and stuff. IMHO, get a 95 5.9L out of a
Ram and get wiring from a 95 5.2L dak. More bang, same bucks =) That's
what I'm doin'
