it depends on how old your son is as to how embarrasing it is.
i must assume he is between 13-17.
it does draw attention to the fact that you are backing up and people
should look out but it also "labels" you, if you will, as a slightly older
person (no offense intended).
i think that any large truck (anything with a box on it or larger) should
have them because you cant always see if some one is in the cab or not.
but i work around semis and box trucks frequently.
as for a small vehicle, i dont think there is any point for backing horns.
if people cant pay that much attention to what is going on around them,
then they deserve what they get.
i believe that is what they call survival of the fitest, or thinning of
the gene pool.
