The flywheel should be ground on a surface grinder to keep it true and not
have any hi/lo spots. If the flywheel needs grinding then you have a good
bet that the pressure plate is in the same condition. Replace it.
Once it becomes glazed, then it does not have the holding power it had when
it was new. The flywheel, pressure plate and clutch disc all have to break in
as mating parts, just as brake pads and rotors do.
