FWIW, the fellow who dynoed my truck spotted a tiny leak where
one of the tail pipes fits into the muffler (he saw a bit of
black carbon on the pipe). I finally put some muffer cement
on it today and ran it for 5 minutes as instructed. Tonight,
while doing an errand, I tested it by dropping into a lower
gear and letting the engine bring the speed down ... no more
faint popping.
