Spare tire lashed to front grille?

Hey gang-

I'm planning a camping trip to the Core Banks of NC this weekend with some
friends
to catch the Persieds meteor shower (provided that frigging tropical storm
doesn't change our plans)...anyways, since its a small ferry across the
sound.... a bunch of gear, two sea kayaks, a load of firewood, coolers, etc.
is being loaded on my
truck for the trip. My 33" spare usually sits in the bed but has to be moved
temporarily to make room for everything. I started rigging up a hangar to
lash it to the brush guard on the front bumper, but got to wondering if
blocking the airflow to the radiator might cause some overheating? Is this a
bad idea for a road trip (4 hrs or so drive)? Just wondering...
