Dwight,
Gen 1 trucks are from 87-90 with the 89 Shelby Dakota being the only V8
truck made..... Special note: Shelby had to really modify the truck to fit
the premag 318 in it.... Frame, etc
Gen 2 truck are from 91-96 with 91 being the first year with the V8 from the
factory a pre-mag motor 180hp? I believe... Then in 92 the V8 was changed to
the maguumn line 225-230hp 318's that is still used in some applications
today...
Gen 3 trucks are the current body style.... with the 98 Dakota R/t trucks
being the first to get the 360 block 245hp with an Automatic only..
