This probably isn't it, but:
A year after i got my 99 i had a sound, maybe like metal rattling. I
thought "it's a heat shield or something." I looked under and nothing was
loose. Then i saw s sticker on the driveshaft was coming off. So i pealed
it all the way off thinking there was no way that was causing the sound, but
sure enough, that was it. No more noise. I guess when i was going fast
enough, the sticker hit the catalytic converter hard enough to sound like
metal slapping!
The sticker was a note saying the driveshaft was factory balanced. Now,
maybe they usually last longer, but what good is a sticker that comes off
the rusty driveshaft in less than a year? They should stuff it in the
owner's manual or something. I did keep it, for what it's worth!
