If your belt tensioner is operating correctly these belts last a long time.
Matter of fact, usually belt starts squealing, then it's time to change it.
My caravan used to throw these things every 25000-30000 miles until I
complained to the dealer. They changed out the tensioner. I've almost got
100000 miles on it now. No cracks, no glazing so we'll let 'er turn a
little longer.

What is the average life span of these belts? My records indicate that the
serpentine belt was last replaced at 58,600 miles and I now have 127,200 on
my truck; so the belt has a little under 70,000 miles on it. I know a broken
belt would ruin the day like a blown radiator hose could. Time to replace
it???????
