Got over 112000 on my belt and it has cracks but is still full of life.
Lots of tension, lots of bouncyness/elasticity! Just carry a spare with
you and a wrench that way when it breaks you can replace it in minutes where
ever you are, mine would take about 3 mins to replace, had to take it off a
couple of times(ya know water pump replacement/one of the pulleys went) and
it is easy and fast. ANd if your anywhere like here(vegas) their's an auto
parts store about as often as a 7-11.

Subject: DML: Serpentine Belt Life

What is the average life span of these belts? My records indicate that the
serpentine belt was last replaced at 58,600 miles and I now have 127,200 on
my truck; so the belt has a little under 70,000 miles on it. I know a broken
belt would ruin the day like a blown radiator hose could. Time to replace
it???????
