I bought their box over the winter (~25 min. drive from my home)
and installed it in May.

If you have a Gen III, you will have to make a cut at the firewall
for fit and then re-fiberglass it. I was talking with a Gen II
('94) owner (works in the Warren, MI. plant) at the Nats who is
also interested, and it looks like there may be enough room at the
firewall. A fellow Canuk DMLer who bought the box with their air
cleaner sent me the air cleaner part (thanx Ryan K) as he went
with the Eldelbrock drop base setup with spacer. The AIS base
plate has to be bent near the front of the motor (can be done
by putting it on a cement block and, surprising, bends easily
so that it sits about the 1/8" off the a/c bolt on top of the
motor) to give clearance at the hood on Gen IIIs (again, may not
be necessary for Gen IIs). I used the top air clean cover from
Mr. Gasket as it is flatter than those from K&N and AIS. For
the ducts, I went to Home Depot to make 4" air ducts (passenger
side runs to beside the rad and driver side temporarily to
fender cutout beside the battery ... will need to relocate the
battery and overflow bottle to run beside the rad on this side).
A 14 x 2.82" K&N filter will make a level fit across the top
of the box. I painted the box with black wrinkled paint (if you
went through the muscle car years of the late 60's and early 70's,
you will know what I mean).

A DMLer did some air temp. testing and found that the open air filters
suck air that is about 30 to 40 degrees hotter than a cold/ram air set
up, and found that a ram/cold air setup was consistently only a few
degrees hotter than the outside temperature.

I cannot say how much it helped my ETs (did a weight reduction at the
same time) but it does keep me at consistent 90-91 mph through the
traps at the local track. Since I'm going around 115 mph max. at the
end of the run, I also get some 'ram air' benefits as well.

Because any ram type or cowl type hood would cost me about $1000 CDN
(incl. taxes but not paint) up here, it is a good compromise choice for
me.

Hope this helps.
