Heat range. The 3923s are one range colder. They dissipate heat away
from the tips faster than the 3924s. 3922s would do it still faster, I
believe, but it's too large a difference to install those. The colder
heat range will reduce pinging (if you have it) but in city driving they
may foul, which can be cleaned up with a good highway blast. All this
from a collection of Bob Tom posts I have stashed away in my email.

When I swapped my factory plugs for 3923s my engine ran smoother,
pinging is reduced, and the butt dyno may be registering some extra
oomph. No change in mileage; if it's changed at all, it's been for the
better (but that's dependent upon so many variables...).
