A higher amp alternator can harm your battery. Alternators and batteries
are 'matched' from the factory....smaller alternator having smaller battery
and larger alternator having larger battery. Changing your alternator to a
higher amp, and continuing to use the smaller battery can warp the plates
inside the battery and in effect ruining the battery.
