Course you could change your Gen III CC to a Gen III QC and it will fit
perfectly underneath either of the back seats.

I had the same problem with mine. I ended up "wedging" my 10 disc changer
between the rear drivers side seat and the wall of the extended cab. There
is a gap about 4 or 5 inches wide between the two(where the cup holder is)
My sony changer fits snugly when I put it horizontial. Hasn't moved yet.
