My tires showed up today!! Woo-Hoo!! Tomorrow everything gets put together &
installed on the truck. Final cost is $1,243.
Here's the deal: 5 R/T rims w/caps @ $124 each...........$620
                                5 Goodyear Eagle GT IIs
                                (255/60/17) @ $83
each.......................$415
                                2-day Fed Ex on
tires........................... $ 66
                                5 mounting,balancing,valves...............$125
                                set of wheel
locks.................................$ 17
Considering I'm getting 5 of everything brand new for $1243, and I've seen
USED sets of only 4 going for $1100, I think I did OK. I'm estimating
$25/tire for the mounting, could be lower.
One note: the chrome lugnuts on my 15x8s were too tall to fit under the
center cap of the R/T wheels, and regular aftermarket lugs don't have a wide
enough conical base, so upon closer examination, I saw that the chrome acorns
were actually a sleeve over a regular nut! I used my grinding wheel to shave
off the sealed acorn top of the nuts, and now they fit under the cap! Good
thing, 'cause 3 Dodge dealers around me were out of stock!
