Hi there guys!!
I want to upgrade my alternator to the 136 amp rated at minimum 120 amp part
53008651 that comes the HD group on my DAK 1996 3.9 liter.
I have the 120 amp rated at minimum 90 amp one that is part number 53008647.
I can get the above alternator from someone who bought for his dak also a
1996 but v8 and his truck came with hd group.
He tells me that everything should just fit uninstall old one put in new.
I call Dodge dealer he says I am going to need to upgrade the harness and
the mounting are not the same also the alternator is 7 groove pulley.
Has anyone upgraded one if so what problems did face or is this just all
hype from dealer.
If it not does anyone have a source for me to get these parts let me know.
