I don't know if they do this with Dakotas but on smaller cars you have to push the level forward... Especially with 5spds and floor shifters...
Like I said I don't know if they did with Dakotas...
Personally My highs really suck... They don't put out a good bright light... it's almost like I have two low beam switches where the little blue light comes one for one of 'em.
That's my 2cents.
