Hey all...
just need to ask a few questions and see what ya all got to say.
I have the the 42RE automatic and a V6.
#1: When driving slow in first gear (selector in OD) and the truck is about
to shift to second...it seems to to buck or move in and out of second until
you get up some speed...if i take the rpms to 2000 in first before i let up
so it can shift..this does not occur. Any ideas out there. Do you guys
think it could be the TPS...like it has a flat spot in it or something.
Also...i've noticed a couple of times when you get on it from a stop but
dont lay it into the floor....it seems to kinda hold second too long (it did
this tonight) and the revs hold at 4500-5000 until is shifts to second.
Tonight it held for a while and then the shift to second was pretty
hard...nice push in the back that im not used to. Im starting to worry about
this tranny. The only other thing that i can think of would be the TV
cable, which i have advanced the most you can (this is the adjustment behind
the TB)for firm shifts.
#2: Between shifts, especially between 1-2 and 2-3 the engine speed
increases for about 1 or 2 seconds..when the tranny is engaging the clutch
packs...its almost as if you were driving a stick and left your foot on the
gas between shifts. I know this is not normall, the shift should be quick
with no slop between shifts.
Any comments or suggestions are welcome....please email me off
list..caldridge@uswest.net
Thanks
