So what can it be? I ran the truck this morning it ran normal in the colder
weather but today, again will be hot and humid.

Steven, That may or may not be temp related, I know here in VA we have a
very very humid heat, a little different heat probably than you get out
there. One thing I did notice when I was reviewing the recordings is that
the underhood temp (battery temp) was 91.5 degree, running 65 mph on
asphalt, but what really caught my eye was the fact that the coolant temp
was 195.8, which is right where it should be (195 stat). So even though the
ambient temp was around 90 and the humidity was around 80%, the engine was
still running a normal coolant temp. DC has said from the beginning that
the coolant system on the 4.7L is second to none.

Matt,
Yesterday was a hot and muggy day here in the north county (san Diego) and I
noticed a loss of power and low rough idling 480-520RPM. Have you
experience this? Also, I did notice the temp gauge kept running around
200-210 degrees. What gives???
I have the same type of dealership here. I would of bought three vehicles
from them but my better half wants her Chebby but I told her until 2003. I
received numerous free oil changes, and other goodies from the same
dealership. I told them I interested in the first purchase of the 2003
Viper and new Dakota when it hits the showroom. Nice people to deal with.
Take the time to talk to me and asked me questions on how the Dodge is
doing, every time I at the dealership.

Subject: DML: RE: 4.7L computer problem revisited~UPDATE
Ok, I just got back from the dealership. First let me say my dealership is
what I call a real 5 star dealer! First of all, the technician comes out to
the truck and removes the Co-pilot from the my truck, and the guy is real
cool about, he asked if I was going to stay while he pulled the recordings
off the co pilot, I said sure! So he takes me right into the shop with him,
pulls me a chair up and we begin to plug into the DC computer system. He
walks me through all the steps, and tells me what he'll be looking for ect.
So he pulls the recordings off and displays them on the screen, all I can
say is WOW!!! this thing is awesome, it recorded everything that was going
on in the PCM and sensors for 30 seconds each time. It gave readings on
everything you can think of!
Now, if you'll recall I had suspected a TPS problem, even though it never
gave a fault code.
Well, first thing he says is he suspects its the culprit, so we start
looking at TPS voltage during the 30 sec. record. And low and behold the
TPS flat lined right at the time the engine shut down to idle. He is also
looking at Vacuum to see exactly were the throttle plate is. If its closed
then Vacuum will be high, WOT it will be low. The TPS is not totally "bad"
but he suspects there may be defect in it.??? When I left he said he was
going to call DC and review the recordings with them and see if they also
agree that the TPS should be replaced. Now thats 5 star service, I wish
every 5 star dealer was like that, I know some of you all have not had good
luck with them! Anyway, they also replaced my cup holder under warranty.

<A few weeks ago I took my truck into the dealer to explain the problem I
was having with the PCM <cutting fuel/ignition out under hot conditions
after shifting gears (5spd) (possible overheat??) <Anyway, they gave me a
Mopar Co-pilot computer, hooked it up to the truck and told me if I could
<replicate the problem to press the button on the thing so it could record
what was happening in <the computer. The Co-pilot records 15 secs prior and
15 sec's after you press the button and can <hold up to 3 recordings. So
I've been trying to replicate the problem for 2 weeks and can't get it <to
act up, even went to the strip on a hot humid day and nothing happened. So I
disconnected it <the other day, and said the hell with it. Well today, out
on the interstate on-ramp it did it <again, so I open the glove box pull the
thing out, hook it up, and then slam the thing down into <<3rd rev it to
5000 rpms and slam 4th and IT DID IT!! so I mash the button for the
recorder!! <wait 30 secs, and did it again, I got 3 good recordings!! So
now I'm going to the dealer, <hopefully tomorrow, to turn in the co pilot
for them to review. I hope they find something!!
