Hi
I had one of those filters and it worked well. By the
way it was "FRANZ"
The recommended you use non-detergent oil as the
filter would remove the detergent. You might ask the
Amsoil guy how it "microfilters" without removing the
detergents and other additives.
Clear oil doesn't mean non-contaminated. Color has
very little to do with the ability of the oil to
retain viscosity or a handfull of other properties,
for that matter.
I used Mobil 1 in my 92 V6 Dakota and it had 204,000
miles when I totalled it in an accident. My oil
changes were every 7,000 miles.
Needless to say, I am using it again on my 2000 V8.
