In Illinois.. I've seen the officers stand right there in a courtroom as
well and hand you a ticket with the information corrected if you try to get
out on the technicallities. It's BS.. but from my experiences.. when you go
in there.. You have to prove yourself innocent without a doubt. Which means
convincing the judge (the final word in the law) that the officer of the law
is wrong and that you (the offender) were doing nothing wrong.
I got a ticket for spinning my tires, accelerating through a turn, and
fishtailing.. in a front wheel drive car.. And the judge sided with the
officer solely on the pretense that I'd had tickets before.. he had my
driving record clear back into the 80's bringing up tickets from HS. and
even stating that was why he sided with the officer.
