SEPT 26 (car-truck.com) American Metal Market's Al Wrigley is reporting that
DC plans to dramatically increase their output of 4.7 liter V8's next year.
Next spring a new production module will go on-line at DC's Mack Avenue
Engine plant, once up and running it will give DC the capacity to double the
current output of 4.7's.
According to Wrigley, output will be boosted to 2,400 units per day which
translates to an additional 200,000 engines per year. They currently build
about 400,000 4.7's per year. Why the boost? Simple, the 4.7 will be the
base V8 for the next Ram truck (2002) as well as continuing to be used in
the Grand Cherokee and Durango/Dakota.
