TB cleaner

So am I to assume that you can remove the TB air hat, start the engine and
spray the TB cleaner (Gumout or what ever) down the TB bores? Will I have
to rev the engine to prevent stalling as on a carb engine as I have done
before to my Camaro? This will not hurt the manifold or injectors, will it?
Bear with me guys, this is my first Throttle body'd, computer controlled
vehicle.
