I will know next week on any gains by the headers for the 4.7 also. I was
talking to an engineer and he said the same, that the engine was detuned.

4.7L MOPAR PCM

Paul, The intake system is by far the best bang for the buck. There are 3 or
4 brands to choice from, or a homemade type. Whatever kit you choose, make
sure it eliminates the factory airhat.
The Cat back systems, atleast Flowmaster, do not provide any HP bang for the
buck on the 4.7L. I have proof of a 2 hp gain from the Flowmaster system.
There is bang for the buck in the sound it creates!

UPDATE on the MOPAR 4.7L PCM, bad news folks, they have been pushed back
until atleast October.
With that said, I am sending my PCM to Mike Leach Co. on monday for a custom
flash. I have spoken to them today and they told me the 4.7L really comes
alive with a 4-5 degree timing advance.
Its gonna cost more than the Mopar unit, but you don't have to pay the
dealer 60 bucks to reflash your mileage or VIN. so the increase in price is
not that bad. Only around 50 bucks more than the Mopar unit. I should have
it back and installed by next Wednesday.

<Has the DML come up with a Consensus on the best "bang for the buck" on (1)
<intake systems like K&N or others; and on (2) exhaust (cat-back) systems
for
<the 4.7L V8???

<These appear to be good HP returns for the money, as well as some nice
<esthetics on the truck.

<Appreciate your suggestions as to brand and source of supply...I'm ready to
<hit the wallet in the next week or so.

<Thanks in advance.
