I was running 87 in my QC 4.7, until I got a bad tank of gas and started
getting some bad pinging. It was so bad that I couldn't even pass or
accelerate moderately on an on ramp w/out it pinging. I then topped off the
1/2 tank of bad 87 w/ some 92 and since then have been running 89 w/ no
pinging. I would like to put in a 180 thermostat, but we are coming into
the winter season and I will probably wait until spring. Hope this helps.
