Ok Dester, take a sip of coffee, relax and listen up.

Originally, you had a set of two wires going into your stock coil. One of
those wires was green/orange (coil +) and the other one was black/gray
(coil -), right? Still with me?

The other end of those wires went to the 12-volt switched ignition and the
distributor respectively. Since the wiring that goes to the coil has a
connector (at least mine did) on it, you would cut those wires, say about 8
inches from the coil. Now the wires that you cut lead back to the ignition
and distributor. The other part is still hanging there going to your stock
coil.

The green/orange that's headed to the 12-volt switched ignition (+) needs to
be connected to the small red wire of the MSD unit.

The black/gray wire that's headed toward the distributor (-) needs to be
connected to the white wire of the MSD unit.

Of the two wires still hanging from the coil the green/orange one needs to
be connected to the orange wire of the MSD unit and the black/gray wire
needs to be connected to the small black wire of the MSD unit.

maybe that "white" wire is the tach wire?
