I have been building engines for over 17 years and have never had an engine
fail. Even to this day my first engine, a 450 horsepower Chrysler 413 is
still running and I would have to that part of the reason is regular routine
maintenance and the fact that I always, always use a magnetic drain plug in
the oil pan. While the filter is suppose to catch all those fine little
micro particles it doesn't always.

I would much rather know that any metal was trapped in the filter because
the magnetic oil band kept it there than run a chance of those particles
running around the engine messing up the cam bearings or the crank bearings.

But this is my own opinion and has nothing to do with Performance Products
or the manufacturer of this product.

By the way can you compare us to a different company instead of JC Whitney?
Our catalogs are much nicer!

I was browsing through your website and am pretty impressed
with the items
online...but WHY IN THE WORLD would you advertise this
"Band-It" Oil Filter
                Band?!?

"When internal engine parts wear, iron and steel shavings
circulate in the oil,
causing even more wear whenever they get between two moving
surfaces. The
Band-It captures these particles and removes them from the
oil flow, reducing
engine wear substantially. Simply strap the magnetic band
around your existing
spin-on oil filter, and go driving!"

Metal shavings in the oil...oh my god...someone needs to
invent a filter for
that!! (Oh wait..it's called an Oil Filter.) Also, in
todays modern engines,
there's more aluminum particles than steel/iron...so what
the use of the
                magnet?

Nice website, but it really turned me off with that "J.C.
Whitney" quality
                product (Band-It).
