To whom it may concern,
I am the owner of a 2000 Dakota V6 4x4 an I am happy to inform you that
your article indicating that the Dakota V6 is an "anemic" engine is grossly
in error. I have had my truck for just over 9 months & have been averaging
500 miles per week & I have never had to add extra iron booster shots or
Geritol to the gas tank in order to cure the condition you cite. It is a
stock v6 with the only modification to the engine being a larger gap in the
spark plugs. I get between 17.5 - 18.5 mpg in a 4000 + lb 4X4 with a 350 lb
VersaCap & the bed chock full of tools & building materials over mostly
hilly terrain! f you are attempting to compare it to GM or Ford V6es, which
are wrapped in tiny little mini-bodies that can't pull half their weight in
trailers, then you might as well say that Harley-Davidson Motorcycles are
"anemic" when compared to Scwinn bicycles, because they don't pedal as
smoothly as a Scwinn. Better check your sources.
Sounds like either sour grapes or maybe a little extra added stipend from
another one or two of the "Big 3!"
