They are another type of hanger for the leaf springs. Basically 2 longer
steel bars (plates). that effectively lower the mounting point of the spring
for very little money. just need to add longer shocks to maintain the wheel
travel. If I remember right though; the spring perch on the Dakota is
designed to where shackles wouldn't be a simple mod like they used to be.
