My truck's idler arm went out at 90,000 miles and I replaced it with a Moog
unit. This past winter, my trucks pitman arm also needed replacement at
about 115,000 miles. I bought the steering arm puller from Sears with the
full intention of doing it myself. I found out that there was little room to
get a tool in the area from the bottom of the arm to a frame brace. So I
returned the gear puller and paid a local shop $30 to put it on. I have no
clue how they managed to get a tool in that small space or what they did,
but in 45 minutes they were done. Hope this helps.
