The info I quoted as to the size is from the BFG site that you can download
and read with Acrobat reader. I have not put a tape on the tires but
depending the width size of your rims, if yours are wider than 8", you could
be shorter as the bead lays out further. BFG's info is installed on 8" rims
with a section density of 11". Yes you can go wider but you will also start
having the edge bead of the tire lifting which will create a false alignment
problem. I have run wide tires on narrow rims to do just that. It picks up
the outter edge of the tire so in rocky country, tread- not the sidewall is
presented to the terrain. Helps not having a flat 50 miles from nowhere.
