Texas trooper injured after patrol car rolls several times

FORT WORTH -- A Department of Public Safety trooper was injured Wednesday
after his patrol car rolled over several times as he chased a motorist for a
traffic violation, authorities said. The trooper, who was not immediately
identified, was released after being treated at Harris Methodist Fort Worth
hospital where he was taken by helicopter ambulance, said Ashley Wesson, a
hospital spokeswoman. The accident occurred about 11 a.m. along the
southbound lanes of Interstate 35, near Alliance Airport, about 15 miles
north of downtown Fort Worth, said DPS spokeswoman Tela Mange. The trooper
apparently had just started to follow the car when another car cut him off,
Mange said.
The trooper's car went onto the shoulder of the road and flipped over several
times, Mange said.
